Our Story

Kiwi Structure is a Maungatapere based family-owned business that was established in 2020 out of necessity. When Rhett’s family decided to build a new kiwifruit orchard the closest expert was the Bay of Plenty. There was a gap that needed to be filled, and this was the birth of Kiwi Structure. We started off as a one-man band but today, the team consists of Rhett, Nathan, and Michelle – the perfect team to get the job done.

Meet the Team

Rhett Matson

Hi, I’m Rhett, the Owner Operator of Kiwi Structure. I’ve been a fencer for over 10 years and after spending time abroad fencing, I returned to raise my family locally and to continue working within the industry. My family has been a part of the Kiwifruit industry for 30 years and part of the Maungatapere community for over 150. I personally train every team member to ensure quality workmanship because I believe that every job should be finished to perfection. I understand the seasonal demands of the kiwifruit industry and work closely with growers to ensure their crop is growing and supported on the strongest possible structure. When I’m not at work you’ll find me working on my lifestyle block, on the Mangakahia squash court, or at the local playground with our three daughters.

Nathan Stanbridge

Hi, I’m Nathan, Fencer & Horticultural builder for Kiwi Structure. I have over 10 years’ experience in the Horticulture and Landscaping industries, as well as being a part of the New Zealand Army for 5 years. I have a vast amount of heavy machinery experience, and I enjoy completing jobs to a high standard, no less than I would expect on my own property. When I’m not at work you’ll find me on my local lifestyle block, watching UFC, or playing with my young daughter.

Michelle Matson

Hi, I’m Michelle, the Owner Operator of Kiwi Structure. I have over 10 years’ experience in business operations and marketing. I’m originally from Hawkes Bay but after meeting Rhett abroad we chose to make Maungatapere our home. Anything behind the scenes, I’m your lady; Bookkeeping, admin, marketing, that’s me! When I’m not at work you’ll find me directing Rhett on lifestyle block jobs, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, or being the peacekeeper for our three daughters.
